What is the SkinScope LED?
The SkinScope LED by SkinCeuticals is an easy, portable full-face skincare diagnostic tool designed to reveal underlying skin concerns before they rise to the surface. It was developed for skincare professionals to educate their clients on the importance of proper skincare.
What does the SkinScope LED do?
Some skin conditions are easily visible in daylight, and some are only visible under UV light which highlights sub-surface skin damage. The SkinScope LED uses two light modes to help assess patients’ skin: a simulated daylight mode for reviewing visible concerns on the surface, and a LED-UV light mode for identifying underlying skin damage. It also allows for the use of any smartphone to document the consultation with a universal smartphone visor. The Skinscope LED reveals some of the following skin concerns and imperfections:
- Accumulated sun damage
- Oily skin and congested pores
- Dehydrated and thinner skin areas
- Uneven texture
- Skin peeling
What are some of the benefits of the SkinScope LED?
In addition to identifying surface-level and underlying skin conditions, the SkinScope LED offers a number of benefits for skincare professionals to assess patients including effective recommendations for regimens, treatments, and products based on diagnostic results, and progress tracking after visits and treatments over time.
Other benefits include:
- Multiple diagnostic options with purer light capabilities
- Enables follow-up engagement with smartphone photography of diagnostic sessions
- Incorporates timer settings for different light modes for controlled consultation sessions
- Light, portable, and easy to use
What are the SkinScope LED’s different light modes?
The SkinScope LED has two light modes: Daylight and LED-UV 320-365nm. These two light modes track both surface visibility as well as damage beneath the skin surface.
Daylight Mode
The skincare professional preparing the diagnostic session can highlight areas of redness, irritation, visible dryness, oiliness, wrinkles, and pigmentation, and can pinpoint specific skin concerns using the simulated Daylight mode on the SkinScope LED.
LED-UV 320-365nm
The LED-UV mode illuminates skin imperfections beneath the surface. While some of these concerns may be visible in daylight, they are emphasized under UV light. The fluorescence of the skin differs in color based on various conditions. For example, melanin shows up as dark spots on the surface of the skin, congested pores show up as pink or orange fluorescence, oily skin shows up yellow, and dry/flaky skin shows up as a white fluorescence. Darker blue fluorescence indicated areas of thinner, dehydrated skin.
