The Miracle Moment with Dr. Orbeck- The Dream, Podcast Episode 2 Recap
The Miracle Moment with Dr. Orbeck Episodes 2 and 3 are now available on our YouTube channel. In Episode 2, titled “The Dream”, Dr. Orbeck discusses preemptively striking before disease occurs, as his goal and approach to health. When he began research on this topic, the A4M (The American Academy of Anti-Aging) came up. At the time, Dr. Orbeck was unfamiliar with this organization, and he decided to enroll in a module.
What did Dr. Orbeck learn through the A4M module?
Through the A4M, Dr. Orbeck learned different protocols and truths about metabolic health that he hadn’t learned in medical school. He called the experience life-changing, and he was blown away by the fact that it wasn’t part of the standard curriculum. The topics explored in the module included the absolute truths of metabolism, cell signaling, and hormones. It was at this time that Dr. Orbeck decided to make a shift in his career, to work more preemptively with a focus on health and wellness.
How does Dr. Orbeck’s approach to health and wellness work?
Dr. Orbeck believes in the importance of preventative care, through genetic signals, and various health markers that indicate potential health risks. He understands that personalized wellness plans are essential for optimizing outcomes for his patients, through tweaks in lifestyle choices including nutrition and fitness.
What are some of the markers that impact our health as a society?
Dr. Orbeck suggests that the exposure to EMF (electromagentic force) from wireless devices plays a role in our overall health. In addition, the additional hormones and genetic engineering that occurs to produce large quantities of food can take a toll on our bodies. Our metabolism may not know what to do with the added hormones and chemicals. Dr. Orbeck uses the analogy of a high-end sports car needing the right fuel, and thinking of our bodies in the same way.
How does Dr. Orbeck explain the process of learning about regenerative medicine?
Dr. Orbeck enrolled in a 3-year fellowship through the A4M, where he worked towards his holistic vision of health and wellness. He describes the process as a journey of going from unconscious incompetence (not knowing what you don’t know), to conscious incompetence (being aware of what you don’t know), and eventually reaching conscious competence, where you think, read, and put the new knowledge into practice. In about 3-5 years, this practice becomes unconscious competence, or second nature.
How was Regenerative Medical Institute developed?
Over the course of 10-12 years, Dr. Orbeck developed protocols and understood integrative and functional medicine more and more. He had the opportunity to join an organization of amazing doctors who served as a network for learning and support. His goal was to develop a unique institution that allowed people to reach their full potential and achieve their goals for health and wellness. He describes this process as achieving external beauty through internal wellness.
Dr. Orbeck goes on to discuss the body’s availability to heal itself, and explains that it is his job to identify what is impeding that healing process– to get out the things that are blocking this process, and put in and/or support the things that assist with the process.
